All of Carolina Gold Oils are extracted through cold pressed methods. Cold pressed oils are unrefined and extracted without the use of hexane and harsh chemicals. Unrefined cooking oils are obtained through pressing and grinding fruit or seeds with the use of heavy granite millstones or modern stainless steel presses. Cold pressed oils retain all of their flavor, aroma, and nutritional value of the seed from which they were pressed. Although there is some heat in the process through friction, the heat must not exceed 120° F for the oil to be considered cold pressed.
